Our Story
The Engine Block opened in 2024 and is run by Jeff — a Danville native with more than two decades of hands-on experience across the area's specialty shops. He's not just a mechanic. He's a car guy who built this shop around two things: doing the work right and being straight with people about it.
Whether you're coming in for an oil change or a larger mechanical repair, the same approach applies: clear communication, fair pricing, and no run-around. We work on all makes and models, and general repair work is backed by a 90-day labor warranty. If daytime drop-off does not fit your schedule, the key box is out front.
What We Do
From oil changes and Virginia inspections to diagnostics, brake work, A/C service, and larger mechanical repairs, we'll explain what the vehicle needs and why before work begins.
Oil changes, tire rotations, filter swaps, fluid checks — all the regular maintenance that keeps a vehicle running the way it should.
Check engine lights, drivability problems, and electrical issues. We diagnose what is actually happening before recommending parts or repairs.
Engine diagnosis and repair, replacement engines, transmission service, and transmission replacement. Performance swaps and project builds are scheduled separately through The Forge.
Brake pad and rotor replacement, calipers, suspension components, shocks and struts. Safety work done right and at a fair price.
A/C diagnosis, recharge, and repair. If your cabin isn't cooling the way it should, we'll find the cause and fix it.
Virginia state vehicle inspections. Call ahead so we can confirm inspection availability and the best time to bring the vehicle in.
